For over 2000 years, the world has been waiting for the true Messiah. Other nations and entire religions have formed as a result of the claims that certain individuals throughout history were the promised messiah.
As Jews, our scholarship of the Torah has pointed us to the understanding that the true Messiah has not come yet. As the ancient scholar, Maimonides says, "There are thousands of reasons why we know that the Messiah has not come yet." Precise understanding and knowledge of the ancient Hebrew Bible present a variety of requirements that the Messiah will have -none of which have been met by anyone in history. This is why Jews are still waiting on the true Messiah to come.
