King David writes in Psalms that G-d's Wisdom in the Torah is greater than all of the gold and silver in the world, because it gives a person the chance to hear and understand G-d speaking to him. A Choice for Torah doesn't mean giving up this world - it will give you the real joy and goodness of this world.
