The main slogan Korach used in order to sway people to his side in his rebellion against Moses and Aaron was encapsulated in this public declaration:"You take too much upon yourselves, for the entire congregation are all holy, and God is in their midst. So why do you raise yourselves above God's assembly?" The Torah advocates both equality and hierarchy, the challenge in an individual’s life, as well as any community and larger entities of nations, and ultimately, the family of nations, is to find the right balance that ensures equality based on being created in the image of God while at the same time recognizing that everyone is not equal in ability, responsibility, talent or personality.
